SEAT Project

Shelter Employment And Training

A Pilot Project

Providing Transitional Intervention And Assistance To Individuals And Families Within The Community Whose Basic Human Needs Are Threatened

The objective of this initiative is to assist the unemployed by increasing their chances of getting their basic human needs met while assisting with transitional shelter, subsistence, family survival skill building, on-the-job training, and re-employment for those who have become homeless as a result of unemployment (and sometimes underemployed).

For most of these individuals, the inability to meet the demands of normal activities of daily living is a first for them. They are not prepared mentally, emotionally, physically, or financially to comprehend and rationally plan a way to help themselves and their families.

We propose an operational plan to assist individuals and families who are experiencing the threat and effects of unemployment by providing access to resources, training, and employment opportunities necessary to regain independence and shelter without dismantling the family unit.
